Glass Options

Sun offers a variety of glass options to customize your windows for your performance or design needs. Select from Hi-Performance Low-E glass, UV protection glass, tinted glass, obscure glass, tempered glass and even decorative glass. Many of the options can be combined to achieve the effect you want.

Glazing Method All Sun products are glazed with Dual Glazed Insulated Glass as standard. Triple Glazed Insulated Glass is available on Casement series, Fixed Lite and Door products.

Glass Types For better energy performance, select one of our Low-E Insulated Glass types with Argon filled air space. You may also add UV protection by selecting ClimaGuard SPF glass.

Glass Tints All insulated glass units can be tinted. Available Tints are: Bronze, Gray and Reflective Solar Bronze. Tints are part of the glass, not a film. Never apply glass films to insulated glass units.

Obscure Glass All insulated glass units can include Obscure glass. Available Obscure textures are: P516 (typical pebbled surface) and Niagara Obscure (a deeply textured glass with a strong directional flow).

Tempered Glass Most insulated glass units can be tempered to meet glass code and safety requirements. When tempered glass is selected, both pieces of a Dual Glazed IG unit are tempered. Most Low-E, Tints, and Obscure are available in tempered in glass units.
