Grille Options

Grilles visually divide the glass area of a window or door. Add grilles to your windows and doors to give them an extra design element. Sun offers three types of grille systems. ICM's or Internal Contoured Muntins are grilles that are sealed in between the glass. Wood Grilles are applied against the glass on the interior of the window. SDL's or Simulated Divided Lite grilles are a combination of interior and exterior grilles that simulate traditional multi-lite windows and doors while keeping the advantages of modern insulated glass units.

Sun windows and doors offer accurate Grille Alignment across adjacent products.

ICMs (Internal Contoured Muntins) are contoured profiled aluminum grilles sealed within the insulated glass unit for no-maintenance convenience. The 3/4” ICM is available in the standard white, vanilla, sand and bronze finishes, as well as in our special order colors (see Sun Clad Colors). They are also available in 2-color combinations (one color for the exterior side, another for the interior side).

This removable wood grille mounts to the product interior. Grille clips with push-pin points slide in notches at the end of each grille bar to fasten the grille to the window. Removing the grille makes it easier to clean the glass. If desired the grilles can be permanently applied to the glass. Wood grilles are available in either 1" or 1-1/4" wide profiles.

SDLs (Simulated Divided Lites) have an aluminum grille bar permanently applied to the exterior glass surface and a wood grille permanently applied to the interior glass surface. A black shadow bar is sealed between the glass. Simulates old divided lite windows without sacrificing the benefits of a single insulated glass unit. Available in 1" and 1-1/4" wide profiles.
