SunClad Double Hung Hardware Options

SunClad Double Hung consists of a pair of positive contact, floating vinyl jamb liners that contain the sash guide tracks and spring balance system. These provide constant, positive contact with the sash for proper sash operation and side air seals. The spring balances have locking pivot shoes that prevent the sash from slipping when tilted. Cam action sash locks are mounted on the check rail along with finger release tilt latches.

The sash locks and tilt latches are recess mounted on the check rail. The check rail is plain with a flat face.

Spring Balance System

Both windows use a spring balance system that is housed in a pair of vinyl jamb liners that float in the side jambs. The sashes are attached to the balance system by two pivot bars that slide into balance shoes that are located in the tracks of the jamb liners. These balance shoes are designed to lock in place when the sashes are tilted 90°. They also feature a tension adjustment screw that can be tightened or loosened as needed. The sashes can easily be tilted and removed from the window without the use of any tools.

Hardware Finishes

The standard hardware finishes (or colors) are as follows.

White or Vanilla exterior = White Hardware
Sand or Bronze exterior = Tan Hardware

This applies to the Sash Locks & Keepers, Tilt Latches, and Vinyl Jamb Liners.

You may request an alternate combination.

The locks and tilt latches are available in the finishes listed to the side (for SunClad Easy-Tilt only). White, Tan or Brown are available at no additional charge. The remaining finishes require an additional charge.
