Window Opening Control Device
Safety around open windows is always important, especially concerning children. New codes are being implemented to regulate the operation of windows to prevent falls. Window Opening Control Devices have been developed and are now available to help meet these codes and safety concerns. The devices are designed to automatically limit the amount of sash opening when a window is initially opened, but also allow an adult to easily by-pass the limit when needed. Please check your local building codes to determine your requirements.

SunClad™ USA Casements have the option of having the sash opening limited by our Window Opening Control Device, also referred to as a WOCD. The device automatically limits the opening of the sash to a narrow opening, but it can also be by-passed or disengaged by an adult when more opening is wanted or needed.
Operation
1. Open the sash fully to the limit.
2. Slide the top Red Cover up.
3. With the Red Cover held in the up position, rotate the Orange Tab
upward.
4. Crank open the sash to disengage the limiter and open to amount desired.
Note: the device will automatically re-engage itself when you close the window.
Colors / Finishes
The WOCD is primarily stainless steel with red and orange operating tabs. It is not visible when the window is in the closed position.
